The Larry Craig Scandal

Senator Larry Craig

The blogosphere is buzzing about Lary Craig’s resignation today. I found two articles that cover the story from interesting points.

Larry Craig Not A “Gay Issue”?
“As part of CNN’s Larry Craig coverage, Kyra Phillips interviewed an Atlanta police officer named Darryl Tolleson. Tolleson’s one of many coppers who cruise Atlanta’s airport arresting “lewd” travelers looking for toilet trysts.

In the course of their conversation, Phillips and Tolleson touched on an important topic: are these cruisers gay?”

Did Media Cross Line In Larry Craig Case?
“Did the media go too far with exposing Larry Craig? Some say yes, a man’s private life should remain private. Others disagree - an anti-gay politician deserves to be exposed.

Two of the most vocal journalists in this debate, Michelangelo Signorile and Chris Crain, faced off yesterday to discuss the ins-and-outs of Lewd Larry’s newly dissected life…”

I personally think politicians that build careers with anti-gay agendas should definately be outed.

  1. Evil Bender says:

Ideally, we wouldn’t care about politicians’ private lives. But Craig was part of the Clinton witch hunt, and argued vocally that gay people should be denied civil liberties, so I have no sympathy for him–he’s a purveyor of the culture that calls sex evil and attempts to humiliate anyone who’s different.

He’s stewing in his own juices, and I, for one, don’t mind a bit.

EB-I don’t have sympathy for him either. While I’m sure there’s a dozen more like Craig I feel his downfall is something to say Woot! over.
