Another New Years Eve

Redhead with shotgun

If you’re celebrating go wild. If you’re chilling at home, relax the night away. Some years I’ve done the party thing but this month has been so hectic tonight’s one of my first quiet nights. So I’ll be in the second category this NYE.

Let’s start 2007 off with a bang!

Fetish Fridays: Furries

Furries is an interesting fetish because it is so unique. It is one of the fetishes I have never talked about on a call.

From Wikipedia’s entry on Transformation

Furries, also known as anthros (short for anthropomorphic animals), are usually depicted as half-human, half-animal hybrids, with the appealing characteristics of both highlighted. Furries are usually bipedal and have the ability to walk, talk, think, and essentially do anything like a human. Many in the TF community, even those with an interest in TFs other than animal, adopt a made-up identity as a furry, known as a fursona. Like the TF community, not all Furries are involved with the fetish aspects of anthropomorphic media. There are some large differences between the communities, and a great number of furries do not consider themselves part of the TF community. However, the overlap is broad enough to warrant mention on this page. For more on this distinction, see Yiff: Debates and Sex and furry fandom.”

The LA Alternative Press has an older article about Furries that I think is worth a read:

Google Censors Sex Blogs?

Google censors sex blogs?

There’s more news on the Google Censoring story. Seems more and more sex bloggers are disappearing from the search pages. I just searched for “Radical Vixen” and have dropped down in the search results. What’s going on and why? I don’t know but let’s blog about this far and wide until we have some answers.

‘Buddha Boy’ Bomjon found in Bara jungle

“NIJGADH, BARA, Dec 25 - Ram Bahadur Bomjon, popularly known as the Buddha Boy, who had disappeared from the jungle of Ratanpuri in Bara district, nine months ago, has reappeared nearby the area.

Alive in Baghdad Christmas Special

Alive In Baghdad Christmas Special

Alive in Baghdad Christmas Special

From Alive in Baghdad:
“Happy holidays, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, Eid Sa’eed, and whatever else you may celebrate. This week we’re taking a look back at 2006, and a year of video about Iraq, by Iraqis.”

Recently I discovered Alive in Baghdad’s vlog. Their videos are sometimes hard to watch but as a peace activist I feel it is important to watch. I’ve been meaning to blog about them and thought their holiday special would be a good introduction to new viewers.

From their site:
“Alive in Baghdad is a weekly video blog. Our limited staff is able to post a video every Monday morning, so if you’re looking for more material please look through our archive.

Alive in Baghdad was formed to counter the sound-bite driven, “Live From” news model. Through the work of a team of Americans and Iraqi correspondents on the ground, Alive in Baghdad shows the occupation through the voices of Iraqis. Alive in Baghdad brings testimonies from individual Iraqis, footage of daily life in Iraq, and short news segments from Iraq to you.”

Exxon Gets Fines Reduced Again

Exxon oil spill

From the BBC:
Court halves Exxon spill damages

A US court has almost halved the damages oil giant Exxon Mobil must pay for a 1989 oil spill off Alaska.

The San Francisco Federal appeals court reduced the payment from $4.5bn (£2.3bn) to $2.5bn (£1.3bn), saying the previous decision had been excessive.

It is the third time damages in the case have been reduced.

Spread Your Wallet For $pread

$pread magazine illuminates the sex industry.

$pread Magazine needs our help. Their store is gone and they’re owed a big chunk of change needed to produce the next issue. This magazine absolutely rocks and needs to keep publishing. $pread’s a rarity-they actually represent sex workers. Even better they don’t limit themselves to one type of profession-escorts, web cam chicks, phone sex operators, prostitutes, porn stars and more are all represented.

If you can, please spread your wallet to help support $pread. They are one of my favorite magazines and I hope you’ll join me in helping them out.

Read more about $pread’s situation here and find more info about helping at their donation page.

While I don’t have the traffic of Boing Boing, I do have traffic I could send your way. If you donate to $pread and have a blog or website send me an email telling me that you donated and I’ll give your site a shout out in a future post.

iBuzz Two Review

Like Dr. Honeydew in the laboratory I’ve been dutifully testing out my new toy. But first-

ibuzz two

Look it’s a little bunny backpacker hiking up Orgasm Mountain!

The iBuzz Two concept is a clever one. The vibes pulse along to the music on your iPod. The volume control turns up the power of the vibe. My volume was turned up about a third to start the bullets buzzing. The silver bar along the top gives you various buzzing speeds. Two bullets mean more fun for solo pleasure or two people get to play. You can hook one or two earbud sets into it.

ibuzz two

Here’s the iBuzz Two all hooked up.

The wires are a bit of a spaghetti monster in this pic. Once you get used to them though they’re not a hindrance. I wish it could be wireless but then again I want the iPod earbuds to be wireless too.

ibuzz two

A close up of the vibrating bullets. The vibrations are good. The buzz matches the bass of a song. Figuring out how a song will vibrate out is the funnest part of this toy. Some songs were an obvious choice, some surprised me.

My favorite songs to buzz to:
-Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode-because I’m just a pervert
-Know Your Enemy by Rage Against the Machine-that band is hot hot hot without any vibration but even better with one
-Various Peaches songs-she’d appreciate it I think
-I Touch Myself by the Divinyls-saw it on the iBuzz web commercial and couldn’t resist

But the best song to rock out to? Enya’s Memory of Trees-nice steady pulse and it’s more of an uplifting masturbatory experience.

If you get the iBuzz Two drop me a line and share your sexy music buzz list with me.

U.S. Losing Iraq War

Colin Powell

From International Herald Tribune:
U.S. forces ‘losing’ in Iraq, Powell says

WASHINGTON: The former secretary of state Colin Powell said Sunday that badly overstretched U.S. forces in Iraq were losing the war there and that a temporary U.S. troop surge probably would not help.

In one of his few commentaries on the war since leaving office, Powell quickly added that the situation could be reversed. He recommended an intense coalition effort to train and support Iraqi security forces and strengthen the government in Baghdad. Powell was deeply skeptical about increasing troop levels, an idea that appears to be gaining ground as President George W. Bush weighs U.S. strategy options.

“There really are no additional troops” to send, Powell said, adding that he agreed with those who say that the U.S. Army is “about broken.”
