War on Porn

The thought police are cracking down and hard.

Red Rose Stories Shut Down by FBI

PITTSBURGH - In the burgeoning War on Pornography, the feds have determined the written word to be among the enemy.

On Oct. 3, erotic fiction website Red Rose Stories was shuttered by its owner, an apparent victim of obscenity charges.
“Red Rose Stories is a dead site,” owner redrose posted on the home page. “The FBI has succeeded in closing me down.”

This is some scary shit. They’re closing down sites with stories. Stories. So what if some of them are sick and perverse-they’re thoughts and that’s all. It’s McCarthyism for the new age. We sex workers need to unite to fight back. They’re not going to stop-they want to destroy the sex industry. They can’t-it will just go overseas but this is our livelihood. I urge sex workers, and those that enjoy porn, to join the ACLU and the Free Speech Coalition and fight these bastards.

I saw this and emailed the webmaster in hopes of getting some more info. Something here doesn’t seem to track. There haven’t been any press releases issued by the local police or the FBI regarding this shut-down and it’s not like those guys are shy about boasting when they target an adult businesses.

In addition to the stories they also had audio content and a paid area. I’m wondering if there’s more to this than meets the eye.

If they were going after stories there are some sites that would be much higher targets with plenty of risky content.

Still, every adult business person needs to belong to the ACLU and FSC. Good advice, always.
