Sex News Update

Lubna Hussein

From the Telegraph:
Sudan woman jailed for refusing to pay ‘indecent’ trouser fine
“Lubna Hussein, a journalist, was among 13 women arrested for wearing trousers on July 3 in a raid by the public order police in Khartoum.

Ten of the women were fined and flogged two days later.

But Mrs Hussein and two others decided to go to trial.

Earlier on Monday, a Khartoum court spared Mrs Hussein, who has promised she will appeal against any conviction, a flogging for wearing “indecent” trousers, but instead fined her the 500 Sudanese pounds.

(snip)

“I won’t pay. I’d rather go to prison,” she said before she was taken to jail.

Speaking as they emerged from the court hearing which was barred to the press, witnesses said the court had ruled that Hussein be jailed for a month if she failed to pay the fine.”

Wow, this woman is one brave soul. She just keeps challenging and challenging the system. I’m impressed.
