I’ve been quite the news junkie. Since yesterday afternoon I’ve been glued to my computer. I’ve been reading and watching so much news I’m cutting myself off after this post to knit and watch The Big Lewbowski.
What an amazing night. I cried watching Obama’s acceptance speech. I’ve watched it several times and it moves me every time. I’ll give McCain credit-his speech last night was one of his best. It reminded me of the good aspects of the Republican party that have been missing from the Bush version.
I was overjoyed when Obama won the primary. But when he picked Biden for VP I thought about going third party. In the end I voted for Obama. Mr. Radical went third party and we bickered good naturedly about it in the car to vote and even in line waiting (much to the amusement of the people around us).
There are so many amazing images from last night. The one that really got to me was watching Amy Goodman. Last night I was watching Democracy Now’s streaming video and she was beaming. Most of the time she looks very serious because she’s reporting grim news. To me seeing Amy smiling and looking like she might cry happy tears represents how I feel about this election. Now that the Bush regime is ending we can all smile.
Naturally, there’s election news everywhere. My fave was Democracy’s Now coverage. Their election show can be found here.
