Real Doll Documentary

Real Doll

In 2005 I blogged about Real Dolls. I found a Real Doll documentary at both Feministing and Scanner. Personally, I don’t see the appeal of dating an inanimate object but after watching the video it seems the Real Dolls are fulfilling a need. From a sex worker perspective I found the film really interesting. The men featured reminded me of some of my callers. The ones I’m thinking of are the guys that are single, socially awkward, have failed relationships under their belt and are mostly looking for companionship instead of a hot and heavy sex call. In a world as overpopulated as ours it is telling that many people can feel so isolated and lonely.

The scenes of the Real Doll Factory are fascinating. What a strange place to work eh? I have to give kudos to the people who made the film. They do not attack the doll owners or the Real Doll company and instead let them tell their story.

    Why does this scare me?

That doll looks so real they sure are geting there to where men will replace woman with sex dolls.

Gillette-I think because the doll owners seem to have so many social hangups. They have difficulties functioning with real people and that sets off a trigger with others.

sex toys-I think a percentage of men will yes, but a small percentage I would guess.
