Officer struck by Bush’s cousin dies
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) — A police officer died Saturday, four days after being struck by a sport-utility vehicle driven by a federal judge, the mayor said.
Officer Dan Picagli, a 17-year veteran of the force, was hit while directing traffic in the rain Tuesday night. He had been wearing a black raincoat and a reflective vest.
The SUV was driven by John M. Walker Jr., a senior judge on the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New York, who maintains court chambers in New Haven. He was leaving work when the accident happened, police said.
No charges have been filed.
Police Chief Francisco Ortiz said the accident remained under investigation, but officers did not feel it was necessary to test Walker for drugs or alcohol.
-Now, what do you suppose would have happened if Judge Walker hadn’t been related to the president? If he was an average bloke would the officers still “ not feel it was necessary to test Walker for drugs or alcohol”? Or even if he hadn’t been a judge? Would charges still not have been filed?
This is such an obvious case of favoritism it’s sickening. If he would have been an “average” citizen he would have been arrested and the media would have been shouting “cop killer”.

Oslo gay animal show draws crowds
Curators say a Norwegian exhibition on homosexuality among animals has been well received, despite initial indications of strong opposition.
The Oslo Natural History Museum opened the show last week and says it has been well attended, not least by families.
Organisers reported early criticism of the project, and being told by one opponent they would “burn in hell”.
But there has been strong interest in an aspect of animal behaviour the museum says is quite common.
It says homosexuality has been observed among 1,500 species, and that in 500 of those it is well documented.

I had a great in person session today. The gentleman in question lives in my city so there is a probable chance we’ll bump into each other sometime. I’ll call him Local Guy.
LG was one of my first in person clients years ago. In fact he was my third session. The first session was with a man who is the spitting image of my father in law. For my second session I had a man who complained, whined and pouted when I said no to his requests for sex.
For my first session with LG I was still nervous and at that point wary of another in person. He turned out to be quite pleasant. I felt that I was blowing the session because of my nerves. He did everything right on his end. He was polite, clean and honest. He just wanted what he originally asked for-a spanking and caning.

Before arriving at LG’s house I had my pre-sessions nerves. Mr. Radical took me out to lunch to help me relax. I needn’t had worried. My session with him went wonderfully. It may be one of my top sessions ever.
LG greeted Mr. Radical and found a comfortable place for him to sit. He sat outside and read a book during the scene. The two of us went into the guest bedroom. He had gotten me a glass of wine and the session fee was sitting in an envelope on the table. He paid in larger bills, always a nice touch.

Moments ago President Bush signed the Military Commission Act into law, stating “This bill provides legal protections that ensure our military and intelligence personnel will not have to fear lawsuits filed by terrorists simply for doing their jobs.
[The] legality of the system I established was challenged in the court, and the Supreme Court ruled that the military commissions needed to be explicitly authorized by the United States Congress. And so I asked Congress for that authority, and they have provided it.”
The Act passed the House on September 29th with 96% of Republicans supporting and 83% of Democrats opposing legislation that allows American citizens to be labeled “enemy combatants,” incarcerated, and tortured. Senator Arlen Specter warned before he inexplicably voted for the bill that the Act would “take our civilization back 900 years.”

China tries to gag climbers who saw Tibet killings
Chinese diplomats in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu are tracking down and trying to silence hundreds of Western climbers and Sherpas who witnessed the killing of Tibetan refugees on the Nangpa La mountain pass last week.
This ominous development comes as fears grow for the safety of a group of Tibetan children, aged between six and 10, who were marched away after at least two refugees including a nun, were shot dead.

An American climber, who asked not to be identified, told of his revulsion at the failure of other climbers to speak out.
“Did it make anyone turn away and go home? Not one,” he said. “People are climbing right in front of you to escape persecution while you are trying to climb a mountain. It’s insane.”
