“Latex fetishism is the fetishistic attraction to people wearing latex clothing, or in certain cases, to the garments themselves. Sometimes this is called rubber fetishism also, as latex is closely-related to rubber (the latter usually being thicker and less shiny, more matte). Latex or rubber fetishists sometimes refer to themselves as “Rubberists”.

One reason why latex, and other tight shiny fabrics may be fetishised is perhaps that the garment forms a “second skin” that acts as a fetishistic surrogate for the wearer’s own skin. Thus, wearers of skin-tight latex or PVC garments may be perceived by the viewer as being naked, or simply coated in a shiny substance like paint. Latex and PVC can also be polished to be shiny and can also be produced in bright colours, adding further visual stimulus to add to the physical sensations produced by the material. The tightness of the garments may also be viewed as a kind of sexual bondage. The smell of latex rubber is also a turn-on for some rubber fetishists, and such garments are usually impregnated with chemicals to enhance the odour. Rubberists also enjoy the idea of exhibitionism and some fantasise about going out in public wearing fetish attire. Some do this, especially in the more liberal areas (Berlin, New York etc).”

I don’t have a latex fetish myself but I can appreciate how the material makes a body sexy. I never owned a piece of latex clothing until I had worked the phones for a few years. Many of my callers have a latex fetish so I decided to buy a latex dress for a photo shoot.

Mr. Radical and I went to a latex store while on a road trip down the west coast. There were racks of latex and rubber outfits to choose from. The clothes seemed so unappealing at first glance because they hung limp on the rack. Once I tried on a few outfits my perception completely changed.

The cute saleslady had to help me into the latex gear because I had never done it. Stories of her coming into the dressing room to pull down the tight dress played heavily into future calls. I bought a dress that molded to my body. The way it emphasized my breasts, hips and ass was pretty impressive.

Latex clothing is not simple to get on. To put on my latex dress I have to have an assistant. My hubby lubes up my body and gently but firmly pulls the dress into the right spots on my body. When I’m wearing it my mobility is restricted and I immediately start sweating.

That being said I love this dress. I looked really sexy in the photos. I don’t have a latex fetish because I didn’t get turned on wearing the dress. But I can understand how it excites people. It always looks sexy and shows off curves beautifully.
