From Info Wars:
Defense Department Announces Civilian Expeditionary Workforce
“The Defense Department has established a “civilian expeditionary workforce” that will see American civilians trained and equipped to deploy overseas in support of worldwide military missions.”
(snip)
“The program was officially implemented one week ago, on the 23rd January, when Deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England signed Defense Department Directive 1404.10 (PDF), which provides a summation of the duties the workforce will undertake.
The directive, which is effective immediately, states that civilian employees of the DoD will be asked to sign agreements stating that they will deploy in support of military missions for up to two years if needed.”
(snip)
” Furthermore, in a rediscovered 2006 audio clip of an interview with Ben Smith of the New York Daily News, Emanuel outlined the agenda for compulsory military-style training, essentially a domestic draft, aimed at preparing Americans for a chemical or biological terrorist attack.
When controversy arose over the program last November, the use of the word “required” to describe the program was removed from Obama’s change.gov website and replaced with “community service” type terminology.”
—
Oh man does this ever stroke my paranoia. Now something like the CCC could really do wonders for rebuilding this country. But why send these people “overseas in support of worldwide military missions”? There’s a lot of shit that needs to get fixed here before we start messing around in other countries, even more than we already are.
But the truly worrisome part is how the word “required” was originally in the program describtion. Makes me worried if it will be put back in at a later date.
Bah!

From Planned Parenthood:
Medicaid Family Planning Provision Stripped from Stimulus
“Planned Parenthood worked closely with our partners in Washington, DC, to ensure that the economic stimulus package included a commonsense measure — the Medicaid Family Planning State Option — that would have invested in health care and allowed states to expand health care access to more women.
Unfortunately, the Medicaid Family Planning State Option fell victim to misleading attacks and partisan politics and was cut from the stimulus package yesterday.
The Medicaid Family Planning State Option is a simple way to make health care affordable for millions of Americans. It would do two important things:
1. It would allow millions of women to obtain basic health care. It would extend safety-net health care coverage for millions of people, including many who are losing their jobs and health insurance in the economic downturn. Studies estimate that 2.3 million low-income women would receive coverage under this provision by 2014, and 500,000 women would be able to avoid unintended pregnancies.
2. In these difficult times, this provision would save states money. State budgets are being squeezed by the economic downturn, just as millions are losing their jobs and health insurance. The Medicaid Family Planning State Option not only would help states extend their coverage, it would generate savings for states and the federal government by expanding access to preventive care.
Please, take two minutes now to help us raise a public outcry.
Call the White House (202-456-1111). Let them know that during this tough economic time, expanding access to basic health care is more important than ever for women and families.”
—
I’m torn. On one hand I see how this is important. Giving birth control to low-income women is certainly cheaper than the cost of raising an unwanted child. But on the other hand the stimulus bill already has a huge price tag. Shouldn’t we want it very trimmed down to keep the total cost as small as possible? Should the issue of funding family planning be tacked on to another bill or dealt with on it’s own?
What do you think?

From Rocky Mountain News:
Disgraced pastor Haggard faces more gay sex accusations
“Disgraced evangelical leader Ted Haggard’s former church disclosed Friday that the gay sex scandal that caused his downfall extends to a young male church volunteer who reported having a sexual relationship with Haggard — a revelation that comes as Haggard tries to repair his public image.”
(snip)
“Boyd said the church reached a legal settlement to pay the man for counseling and college tuition, with one condition being that none of the parties involved discuss the matter publicly.”
(snip)
“Boyd said he had spoken to the man once and came away with the impression that he was speaking out because of the documentary. “I think what caused this young man to be a bit aggravated was Ted being seen as a victim, when he himself had experienced a great deal of hurt,” Boyd said. “I seriously doubt this man would have come forward if the documentary had not been made.”"
(snip)
“In an AP interview this month before an appearance in front of TV critics in California, Haggard described his sexuality as complex and something that can’t be put into “stereotypical boxes.”"
—
It certainly sounds like hush money to me. I agree with Haggard that sexuality can’t simply be put into “stereotypical boxes”. But how can he really believe that since he spent many sermons condemning certain people’s sexuality? What a hypocritical asshat.
During Jesus Camp there’s a scene where Haggard turns to the camera and says “I know what you did last night”. He then goes on to joke that he wants hush money or he’ll tell the wife. As I watched the scene my pervdar picked up a closet gay vibe. I’ve talked to the type before. These guys like to dance close to the edge, jerking off to the idea of getting caught but then stepping back in time not to be.
On a side note, why does anyone still go to New Life Church?

Many of my clients ask about my political beliefs. I don’t mind talking about them. (Anyone that knows Mr. Radical and I well knows how much we like talking politics.) If asked what I think about political news I always give an honest answer. While my honesty hasn’t changed through the years, my clients’ reactions to my answers have.
When I first started PSO work Bush was in his first term, 9/11 was still fresh on people’s mind and a “don’t question the government or the terrorists will kill you and the baby Jesus” mentality was prevalent across the land.
Maybe this sounds naive but I really didn’t expect such a negative reaction to my political beliefs back then. I didn’t think I was really that radical but my clients certainly did. (this contributed to the naming of my blog)
In those years clients often became upset at my answers and more than once we’d start to bicker. I quickly saw how being argumentative could affect my wallet so changed tactics and added a disclaimer. When clients asked my beliefs I’d caution them that I was pretty liberal and held opinions that not only were contrary to the mainstream but could possibly upset them. I then reminded them that it was their call and they could change the subject whenever they wished.
The effect of my disclaimer worked better than I imagined. If a client became annoyed at my answers I’d remind them that I cautioned against asking me my political opinions. But saying I was “radical” made many eager to hear my answers. What did a radical person really believe? I enjoyed the opportunity to gave a different perspective to the then pro-president, pro-war angle being pumped endlessly by mainstream media.
For my part, I always tried to be polite. Even when I disagreed with them I tried to see their point of view. I don’t think of myself as a good debater. Mr. Radical is far better-he can recite facts and figures with such accuracy it’s as if he’s reading an invisible encyclopedia. Me, I tend to get flustered while debating. But when debating an intoxicated or horny man I suddenly have quite the advantage.
Some of my clients love my liberal beliefs. During the first years of the Iraq War when pro-war news seemed to be everywhere several of my clients were eager to have someone who shared their anti-war beliefs. We’d talk for awhile about the news before starting their fantasy.
As the Iraq War toiled on and support for it and for Bush diminished more of my clients started talking politics. Over the last year I rarely have to say my little disclaimer. Often clients who once supported the war will call and complain about it hasn’t ended yet. I couldn’t agree more.
It’s frustrating when a client speaks a belief I disagree with and then says he wants to move to the fantasy before I can give a rebuttal. But I always let the client choose when to stop talking politics and to start talking kink. After all, it is their call. I’m just grateful I got to show many of them an alternative view.
These days my Democratic clients are starting to get annoyed that I’m not supporting Obama as enthusiastically as they are. I try explaining that as a lifetime Democrat I’m always more critical of Democratic politicians. Maybe I’ll need to come up with a revised disclaimer? Regardless, I’ll continue speaking my beliefs when asked. As a political activist I can’t imagine doing otherwise.

Found via SXE Phil:
Austrian theatre company to stage satirical opera about Josef Fritzl
“An Austrian theatre says it will stage a satiric soap opera centred around Josef Fritzl, the man who allegedly held his daughter captive for 24 years and fathered her seven children.
The 3raum-anatomietheater in Vienna says the show will be titled Pension Fritzl - German for Fritzl’s Bed and Breakfast. The show is scheduled to open February 23. ”
I have such a warped dark sense of humor I suspect I’d find this play funny. SXE Phil is funny too so definitely check him out.

From Huffington Post:
Porn Bailout: Larry Flynt, Joe Francis Seeking Government Money
“TMZ reports that the pornographer pair is heading to Washington to ask for a $5 billion porn bailout:
“With all this economic misery and people losing all that money, sex is the farthest thing from their mind,” Flynt says. “It’s time for Congress to rejuvenate the sexual appetite of America.”"
This news is from earlier this month but I just read about it. A porn bailout is not only funny but also points out the absurdity of bailing out select businesses.

From XBiz:
Max Hardcore Attorneys Deliver Appeal to 11th Circuit
“As Max Hardcore prepares to begin serving his 46-month sentence for obscenity crimes, his attorneys have filed an appeal to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeal, requesting to orally argue their case.
In documents obtained by XBIZ, Hardcore attorneys point to a dozen issues of contention, including whether community standards should be applied to online material and whether a defendant’s sentence can be enhanced for sadomasochism when the evidence is that the acts were not painful.”
Why couldn’t I have gotten on that jury?

From The Standard:
Group protests sentence of prostitute killer
“The group railed against the sentence imposed on the killer of Stephine Beck, a sex-trade worker who was strangled and whose half-naked body was tossed onto the side of a snowy rural road in Vineland in March 2007.
Wayne Ryczak, a 56-year-old surveyor from St. Catharines, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in May and was sentenced to one day of jail after being given 30 months credit for 14 months of pretrial custody.
The controversial sentence sparked a public outcry and eventually an appeal launched by the Ministry of the Attorney General in June. ”
Pop quiz! If the victim was a 56 year old man and the murderer was a prostitute do you think the sentence would be the same? Extra points for those who detected my sarcasm immediately.

From Planned Parenthood:
Roe v. Wade Anniversary
“On January 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down its landmark decision, Roe v. Wade, recognizing the constitutional right to privacy and a woman’s right to choose abortion. Many of us don’t recall the deadly days before Roe when abortions were illegal and “choice” for too many women meant a dangerous back-alley procedure. In fact, in 1965, before Roe, nearly one-fifth of all maternal deaths in the United States were due to illegal, unsafe abortions.
It’s more than three decades later, yet a woman’s constitutional right to choose still isn’t safe and Roe is in serious jeopardy. In 2005, Congress confirmed the appointment of two new anti-choice Supreme Court justices — Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr., both of whom had been nominated by President George W. Bush. As a result, the court is closer than ever to overturning Roe. ”
At least it’s still technically legal?

From Financial Times:
A tragedy of errors
“In his farewell address last week, George W. Bush, America’s 43rd president, quoted America’s third, Thomas Jefferson, who said: “I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past.” Put there to highlight Mr Bush’s very American sense of optimism, it could just as well serve as an unintentional epitaph on his presidency.”
(snip)
““Harry Truman and George Bush both left office with rock-bottom approval ratings,” says Strobe Talbott, head of the Brookings Institution, America’s most venerable think-tank. “That is as far as the parallel goes.”
He adds: “Truman set up Nato, strengthened the United Nations and helped lay the groundwork for the European Union – all legacies that persist to this day. Bush leaves no architecture, no institutions, no treaties and no respect for the international rule of law. His unintended legacy may be for America to turn back to those institutions and try to revitalise them after the aberrations of the last eight years.””
Want more reminders of how Bush was one of the worst presidents ever? Check out Keith Olbermann’s 8 years in 8 minutes.
And of course this “legacy” wouldn’t be possible without the five Supreme Court Justices that decided which man won the 2000 election instead of letting the entire country decide.
I’d like my democracy back. It’s about time.

From Reuters:
Outrage in Chile at busty Virgin Mary models
“A prominent fashion designer has sparked outrage in Chile by dressing up models like the Virgin Mary — in some cases with ample, near-naked breasts.
The Roman Catholic Church condemned Ricardo Oyarzun’s plans for a show featuring the models, and a conservative group tried unsuccessfully to block it in court.”
—
Why shouldn’t the Virgin Mary be portrayed as a hot MILF? Last month Mexican Playboy put a sexy Virgin Mary on it’s cover. Is this a new trend?

I like this gallery of pics because I can totally relate. When I saw them I was instantly reminded of the many work pics I’ve taken in hotel rooms. Those white sheets, the furniture smooshed together, the art that’s usually screwed down to the wall-it’s all so familiar! hehe

From Prison Planet:
Chief Economist: It’s A Depression
“Professor Peter Morici, a former chief economist at the U.S. International Trade Commission, has become one of the first senior economists to admit that the U.S. is facing a 1930’s style depression.
Noting that 2.6 million payroll jobs have been lost since December 2007, Morici told financial publication Kiplinger that a 5 per cent contraction in the fourth quarter made the crisis “worse than a recession”.
“The economy will not recover without fundamental changes in banking and trade policy,” said Morici, an economics professor at Maryland University, “A large stimulus package, though necessary, will only give the economy a temporary lift,” he added. “The economy is in a depression, not a recession.””
—
Interesting how in the Bush years the term depression word was hardly used; instead people insisted it was only a recession. Who wants to bet once Obama’s in the term will be used more?
Either way, if you’re not prepared for “end times” as I like to jokingly call it then you should start now. The statistics are all over-grocery stores only have enough food stocked for three days, average American families are only one major health incident away from being financially destitute, etc. At the very least stock up on rice and beans, get basic camping equipment, a shotgun and bullets. (bird shot is good for hunting both birds and vermin)
I’ll stop here so I don’t sound like too much of a paranoid freak. But if you’re a long time reader you already know I am don’t you?

Cum Guzzler is a regular of mine. He wants to suck cock but is scared to do it in real life, calling me instead. Most of the time he’s an easy call.
For a few weeks last year he became obsessed with “what I really thought of him”. Each call would start the same. “Tell me the truth. What do you really think about me? What do you really think about my fantasy?” At first I took this as a cue to begin said fantasy. I’d answer that I thought he was such a slutty cocksucker and then start describing him sucking a big one.
Normally this works well with him. But for some reason CG kept changing it back to “the truth”. I was positive he didn’t want the real truth so kept my answers standard fantasy intro answers.
After several calls of this I was tired out. My intro answers weren’t working and CG was getting moody. During one call where he again asked me what I “really thought of him” I told him the truth. CG is an ok guy, he’s a mid-life crisis stereotype really. I didn’t want to hurt his feelings so I tried to use my sweetest voice when telling him my opinion.
This isn’t verbatim but it’s close. I told him “I think you’re having a mid-life crisis. You’re in a failed marriage. You and your wife don’t love each other and resent, borderline hate, each other. You’re only staying in the marriage because of the children. You resent this and then feel guilty because you love them. You are bored with your job but are stuck because you’re the breadwinner in the family. You probably have depression. You have a drinking problem that could easily slip into alcoholism if you don’t treat your depression. Your fetish will never be accepted by your wife so you have to explore it outside your marriage. But you have guilt over cheating so you call women like me.”
When I finished there was only silence on the other end. I looked at my phone to make sure we were still connected. After a few minutes a quiet voice said “wow”. I immediately told him I wasn’t trying to hurt his feelings or insult him. CG said “I know. You were just being honest.”
CG’s next comment surprised me. He told me that I was right. He was surprised at how accurately I described him since we’d never met in person. Then he told me that he was a pretty fucked up and depressed sack of shit. I quickly chimed in that I had never called him that. CG laughed a bitter laugh and said no but that it was true nonetheless. Then he thanked me for being honest even though the truth hurt. I stayed quiet, not knowing what to say. Then CG said, “This is too depressing. I want to get off tonight. How about you make me suck off a shemale?”
I followed his suggestion and immediately jumped into the fantasy. He came, thanked me for the call and hung up. He’s never asked me “what I really think about him” again.
