Fetish Fridays: Exhibitionism

Hot Latex Dress

From Wikipedia:
“Exhibitionism (also known as Lady Godiva syndrome and Apodysophilia) is the psychological need and pattern of behavior to exhibit naked parts of the body to other people. In exhibitionism the individual shows a tendency to an extravagant, usually at least partially sexually inspired behavior to captivate the attention of others in a display of a body part, or parts, that would otherwise be left covered under clothing in nearly all other cultural circumstances.

Exhibitionists who view exhibitionism as a lifestyle as opposed to a rare thrill carefully select their target audience and make the exposure brief, inconspicuous and apparently unintentional. It is a fetish, and many such practitioners see it as an art form.”

For a related item see Violet Blue’s excellent article Public Sex.

While researching this Fetish Friday I found Dick Flash, a forum for exhibitionists. From the information section:
“What’s the purpose of this site?

I set it up because I am a practising (practice makes perfect!) exhibitionist who is interested in learning more about the “condition” from a medical point of view as well as having meaningful discussions and sharing experiences. I found precious few (i.e. none) sites on the Net that cater for my exact requirements. Mostly “exhibitionist sites” are packed full of photos of naked women in public (or more commonly not-so-public) areas. While such sites would satisfy the normal hormone enraged teenager, exhibitionists themselves find it does not suit their particular desires.”

Mr. Radical and I once ran into some exhibitionists mid performance. We were with a group of people having dinner on the beach. Tired of the conversation and crowd we went for a quiet stroll. We walked for a ways down the beach and saw a man and woman in the water. At first I didn’t realize they were fucking, but as we continued down the beach it became obvious that the woman was strattling the guy. I can be quite naïve at times. I commented “Wait I think they’re…” to which my husband answered yes while laughing at me. We turned around to go back to our group.

Walking back the way we came we noticed a car parked near the water. There was a man sitting in the driver’s seat and the window was rolled down. He was masturbating while staring at the couple fucking. Were they aware of him? Did they know each other? Were they doing a show for him? There was a vibe in the air that indicated the couple and man were connected. It just felt like the event was planned that way.

Swinger clubs are full of people who want to watch and/or be watched. Porn is about watching, it seems that humans are hard-wired to watch other people fuck. It certainly is an AMAZING aphrodisiac, that’s for damn sure!

  2. Vixen says:

Tom-One could say it’s in our monkey genes. As we evolved we certainly watched each other fuck right?

~~Well. I’ve been thinking about this lately (re:exhibitionism, as it relates to “exposure” in the blogs/sex blogs) ~~

I don’t think I’d ever go naked in public. I’d love to have sex in a public place. And, yet I’ve often thought about going to a nude/clothing optional beach (Summertime dreams, I guess).

What I guess it comes down to, is the opportunity to exhibit, in an acceptable public place..

Exhibitionism, in this sense, is less intimidating, when those around you welcome it~~and, there isn’t a Policeman around, to tap you on the shoulder, or cuff your hands.

Umm…Cops, read blogs, too, but I’m certainly not worried about that!

Note: FYI : I got PD & Lawyers in my family. :)

xx,res~~in camo (not under arrest, though.)

I am an exhibitionist and a voyeur (paraphiliac) I too have had trouble finding meaningful forums on the subject. What I find is either outright sex industry style sites or quasi-psychological scientific study type stuff which frankly I find boring and rather detached from my own self-analysis of my situation and so I shall be re-visiting your page often looking for some reasonable discussion.

I consider myself to be extremely fortunate in that I live opposite a female voyeur at the front of the house and a female exhibitionist at the rear of the house. All I have to do is to discreetly be in the right place at the right time. The key word is discretion, although it does seem to be thinly veiled at times. I know damn well that the exhibitionist woman is aware that I watch her through a curtain gap, (who else draws back the curtains before getting dressed in the morning?) But I know better than to make myself obvious to her, I am terrified of frightening her off, I love the fleeting glimpses I see of her moving around the room naked and I imagine the rush she’s getting from knowing I am peeping. The voyeur woman across the road is getting braver just lately, she’s recently put her jewellery box on an upstairs window ledge and last week she stood there trying on various pieces while I ‘accidentally’ exposed myself after a shower. A mind blowing rush or what? At no time do I look across at her, I use a tiny mirror bluetacked to the wall to check her out, she apparently has no idea I am 100% aware of her peeping activities and again I imagine the rush she’s getting from knowing I might look across and see her watching me.

My experiences have taught me that women are no different from men in this area except for women their reputation with their friends and neighbours is a huge part of their lives and needs to be preserved at all costs whereas generally for men we care less about the extended issues. Therefore women will be much quicker to abandon ship if there’s any suggestion of awareness of what they’re up to!

    Any comments welcome here.
